Appearance: one handsome devil. He's got dark curly hair that just brushes his shoulders and a dark goatee. Tall, dark, and handsome, he's skinny but has some muscle tone. He's got a few tattoos: Hello and Goodbye tattooed on his palms, the Umbrella Academy logo on his left wrist, a temple tattooed on his abs, a tiger tattooed on the back of his right shoulder, and the Sky Soldiers tattoo on his left shoulder.
Personality:
Klaus is not just a hot mess. He's the hot mess. Overwhelmingly, the least trusted of all the Umbrella Academy, Klaus floats through life just trying to have a good time. At least, that's what he tries to do. Life just keeps getting in his way.
Klaus isn't a very complicated guy. He loves hard, parties hard, and will lie like a rug if he has to. He's grown enormously over the course of the three seasons of the show. He's changed from a desperate junkie just looking for his next fix into a relatively sober, immortal madman who just wants to help his family and figure out who he really is.
When Klaus gets overwhelmed or doesn't know what to do, he has a history of running away. He ran away from his oppressive father. He ran away from his cult when things got tough. He tried to stay in the afterlife when he thought things were hopeless. But he's slowly learned how to run towards things. Running into danger to save his family. Running to a young man who doesn't even know him so he can try to save his life. He was the first one to choose to go with Viktor to the farm to try to save Harlan. He needed answers? He broke into the Sparrow Academy to confront their father - something none of the other Umbrellas were willing to do. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries for him to get it right (or some self-talk to push himself through it) but he's learning.
They may have been scattered to the winds for a while, but Klaus loves his family immensely. He hangs around them, even when he's not wanted. He's has great bonding moments with every one of his siblings. When Viktor came out as trans he didn't bat an eyelash. He supports his family. He might not be the strongest Umbrella, but he's got their backs. He's also pretty quick to trust, which causes problems for him. He dove into trusting Reggie and ended up being stabbed in the back. It didn't stick, but that's not the point. He acts first and thinks later... or never. That's how he accidentally started a cult. He wanted to impress the older rich woman who took him in, go hooked on the admiration he was getting and the money that rolled in and things snowballed out of control. He is the living embodiment of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should."
Klaus is smarter and more observant than anyone gives him credit for. The big problem is that no one listens or believes him. Story of his life. He's spent so long being the stupid junkie that he flies under everyone's radar. He's still viewed as untrustworthy and unreliable, things that frustrate him greatly. Granted, he is still pretty unreliable and horrifyingly irresponsible. Point in fact - supervising Stan turned into breaking and entering and a harpoon through the chest. It's no wonder people underestimate him. And when he gets the chance to prove them wrong, he usually surprises himself, too.
No description of Klaus would be complete without mentioning his flamboyant nature. He's a gender bending, sexual force of nature. Throughout the show he's seen wearing a leather skirt and boa, flowing white robes, and a velvet suit among other things. His style is whatever the hell he likes at the moment and it's fabulous. He may not completely know who he is inside, but he's more than happy to express himself in any way he feels like. He takes good care of his body. He does yoga and is mostly conscious of what he eats... now that he's not drugged and dumpster diving. He's also incredibly open about sex. He likes it and he likes it kinky. We don't kink shame in the house of Klaus.
Overall, Klaus is generally happy to be and just wants everyone else to feel the same. He tries to find something to laugh and smile about in any situation. Often it makes him look like an idiotic clown, but he's just a free spirit with little baggage to pull him down. Over the three seasons he has been pulled closer to Earth as he loses people and deals with heartbreak, but he perseveres. He's a lovely human with a smile that lights up a room. A little incongruous for someone who's powers deal with death, but that's also very him.

Powers / Abilities:
Medium - When Klaus is sober, he can see and talk to ghosts.
Evocation - Also when sober, Klaus can use his powers to make the ghosts manifest in the real world. He can use them to fight for him... or to pick him up so he can look like he's levitating.
In addition, he can also destroy malevolent spirits
Resurrection - Death/god doesn't like him so she's fine with him not sticking around in her neighborhood. He can bring himself back from the dead at will. Once he wakes up, his wounds heal.
He's also a skilled fighter and lock picker.
Inventory: Nothing. Except maybe the cowboy hat he picked up in 1963. He's a simple guy.
